After nearly 2 years of making this game, I have decided to make a massive update to make the game more fun and easier to play, add new mechanics and completely new features.

FEATURES, MECHANICS AND BUG FIXES:

while making this update, I have encountered many bugs that I either already noticed or only discovered while testing the game, because I test my game a lot and have completed it countless times, I seem to discover countless amounts of bugs, either game or emmersion breaking or just small noticeable and annoying glitches.

MOVEMENT TWEAKING: 

-gave the player a lot faster acceleration and slightly faster movement speed.

-added a whole new feel to the dash: dash a lot faster and use it dynamically along with shooting to eliminate enemies faster.

-fixed the enemy knockback and made it feel better and serve the player while giving them a challenge.

OPTIMISATION:

I apologize in advance for any technical issues, I have tested the game a lot and have never encountered frame drops and I tried to optimise the game as much as I possibly can, objects and particles automatically despawn now, and boss missiles spawn less frequently to not cause problems.

INTERACTABLE PROPS:

made the props in the game interactable, you can move them, dash through them and hide behind them from the enemy.

GRAPHICS:

noticeable graphic changes, a lot better post processing and better menu colors to match the game's theme, gave the game a more blue tint to match the whole vibe of the game.

AUDIO:

reduced the audio of explosions, pickups etc... to balance things better, BETTER VOLUME OPTION as it was super sensitive before and started the game very lowdly, and guess what? BOSS MUSIC!!!! gives a special feel to the boss and it honestly sounds very nice.

OBJECTIVE INDICATOR:

a simple arrow to guide the player to enemy and door locations since there is no minimap or any other way to find your objective.

DIFFICULTY SETTINGS:

added an easy, medium and hard difficulty options to give players more control over the experience they're going for, relaxed, fairly challenging or challenging experience (I don't recommend playing the game at hard difficulty on first playthrough)

SPEEDRUN COUNTER:

along with fastest time at the end of the game to give the players easier accessibility to speedrunning the game.

REPLACED THE ANNOYING DIALOGUE WITH A SIMPLE TUTORIAL AT THE START:

I recommend reading the tutorial and not just walking past it, note that the player can automatically fire (you don't have to repeatedly click to shoot) and it's better to dash using the right mouse button.

FASTER SHOOTING:

made the shooting along with its animations a lot faster to make the game fast paced and more fun.

NEW GAME ICON

changed the game icon to a very simple picture of the player's sprite, inspired by ConcernedApe's masterpiece and one of my favorite games "Stardew Valley"

BUG FIXES:

-the enemy at level 0 doesn't shoot randomly out of screen anymore.

-collision damage is more accurate now, no more random damage values.

-the player's can't dash through doors to the previous level after it closed.

-the player doesn't get stuck in walls anymore.

-fixed the loud music and unbalanced sound.

-boss missiles despawn as soon as he dies now.

-boss missiles make an explosion sound when they hit the player or the boss now.

-improved and fixed enemy AI (enemies now can shoot at the player without getting too closed to him, though I apologize for the enemy's weird movement and pathfinding)

-enemy and player bullets aren't affected by gravity anymore.

-bullets don't disappear for certain frames in the final levels anymore.

-players aren't damaged by bullets or enemies while dashing anymore.

-the enemy in level 03 doesn't go through walls anymore.
